The Vision

The owners asked us to create an idyllic play area for their young daughter. We loved this idea and envisioned a winding patio path that would give the space shape, gardens to add texture and colour, and a specimen tree for a future rope swing.

Our Process

We laid out the curved path, placing a circular patio at its end, which provides a focal point for the yard and just a touch of whimsy. The garden along the path was designed with colour blocking: as you walk, you encounter hot colours that gradually turn cool before turning hot again. Mature hedging provides privacy, lending the space an intimate and cozy atmosphere.
